Local author Jeffrey Caminsky will be a guest on the "Ebling and You" radio program today.
Caminsky, who is also a retired public prosecutor, will be discussing the recent United States Supreme Court case of United States v Comstock, in which the Court's liberal majority sustained a law allowing federal courts to detain prisoners indefinitely after they have served their sentence. The law, commonly called the Adam Walsh Act, lets federal judges authorize the indefinte detention of those found to be sex offenders who are suffering from a mental illness, or who pose a threat to others, until the court determines that they are no longer a threat, or the state in which they live assumes responsibility for their custody.
